Mobile phones are one of the most important and consistently used devices in our daily lives. It is a device that has unquestionablysimplified the livesof humans. Communication with the known ones has definitely become easy with the introduction of mobile phones. The use of internet has increased with mobile phones since the access of social media has become quite easy with its use. It helps us to search about any information on the internet effortlessly. It has facilitated our lives in many ways but simultaneously, it also has repercussions which have become a threat to physiological, mental and physical health of an individual like one gets hooked on the mobile very easily and gets irritated and aggressive at times. The attention span and ability to focus is also altered with the excess use of mobile phones. Stress, anxiety and depression all are common for people spending much of their time on mobile phones. One can become a couch potato if spent too muchtime on mobile phones. The imagination power gets affected and not only this,power to think and improvise also diminishes.

Teenagers getting accustomed with mobile phone is the most common amongst all. They are not able to concentrate on their studies. They waste their time spending on social media, playing online games. Additionally, they do not get sufficient time for themselves which is extreme important for their holistic development. Their social skills are not developed as they  always engage themselves in mobile phones. They also get exposed to many things which are not meant for them. Some nasty habits are also followedby them as they find all these ‘super trendy and highly acceptable'. Some of bad examples are set and cultural fabrics are affected. There is always a threat of being exploited by strangers and threat to security. Social media bullying is also a consequence of being active on social media for a very long time. As Elon Musk quoted, “When, in fact, those people you think are super happy –actually not that happy. Really depressed, they’re very sad.” These people actually livea life of shadow where they pose just to show happiness and we start believing in it and chase a life of shadow and merely become our own shadow.

To detach ourselves from the excessive use of mobile phones is consequential for us. One can do so by limiting the daily use of mobile phone, spending little to no time on social media, spending more time with parents and going out to travel to new places. One can also be engaged in some extracurricular activities or any other fun activity like playing chess to increase focus and attention span. This helps in reducing the urge to use mobile phones.
